Work N58 - Covered bridge - oil on canvas 10x20 year of execution 2021.
The bridge was painted on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its construction (legend has it that it was built by the devil himself, on Christmas Eve of the year 999, when there was still no bridge over the Ticino). Its 10x20 size is was indicated by the organizers of ARTE 17 to participate in the exhibition in Pavia in strada Nuova at Caffè Arte from 1 to 24 December 2021.
In painting it, it was impossible not to think of it together with the laundresses who once washed clothes on the banks of the Ticino and other waterways, so I detached the laundress sculpted by the artist Giovanni Scapolla from its original position and inserted it on the banks of the river as a keeper of time, in addition to this painting, other formats and framings are available.
